The National Memorial
The National Memorial for the Forced Conscripts was built in 1956 by the Obernai branch of ADEIF.
It honors the 272 victims from the canton who died or went missing during World War II.
From this site, a lookout offers a remarkable view of the town of Obernai and the nearby Mont Sainte-Odile.
The memorial also marks the starting point of the Schenkenberg wine trail, perfect for a walk through the local vineyards.
