The Oberschloss in Romanswiller

The Upper Castle, also known as Oberschloss, is an elegant bourgeois house built in the mid-18th century by the Austrian Barons Haindel, then owners of Romanswiller. After being occupied by the Cerf Berr family for about ten years, the estate passed through the hands of several other families, including that of Jacques Metzger. He established a large family farm there that welcomed several generations. In 2012, the castle's outbuilding was finally sold to the municipality.
