The Playful Garden
At the entrance to the Bruche Valley, in the village of Dinsheim-sur-Bruche, lies a private and unusual garden born from the imagination and passion of a group of artist friends. Freely accessible, this surprising place gathers recovered or found works and objects, each carrying a unique story.
Among the curiosities is a small cabin with stained glass by André Freydt that resembles a chapel but actually represents the witch's house from the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale. Visitors can also discover the bird of fear, a gargoyle by Christian Fuchs, and the statue of the man emptying his belly, nicknamed "the defecator." Penelope's ball of yarn, symbolizing Ulysses' wait, stands alongside the cat and mouse game imagined by Pierre Gaucher.
The stranded dolphin, the giant 10-ton oyster, and the gazebo with stained glass by Thierry Ruhlmann add to the diversity of creations. The Pied Piper of Hamelin, the stack of steel books, and the disordered hourglass complete this artistic and poetic journey, where each piece invites daydreaming.
