The Romanesque House, also known as the Pagan House
Built in 1154, the Romanesque House is one of the oldest surviving examples of medieval civil architecture in Alsace.
Its square plan, rusticated sandstone blocks, and narrow openings give it the appearance of a fortified tower, reminiscent of medieval castles.
This historic gem, classified as a monument since 1922, underwent restoration between 2000 and 2001 to preserve its authenticity.
Today, it is open to visitors by appointment only, offering a chance to explore its origins and experience daily life from the time of its construction.
