The Saint Nicolas Mine Site

Since the 16th century, this mine site has been exploited for its mining potential.

The remains still visible today reveal a well-structured industrial organization. A forge, whose traces have been preserved, bears witness to the processing of ores extracted on site. Additionally, hydraulic installations, essential for powering machines or draining the galleries, have also been identified.

These elements, still partly intact, provide a tangible insight into the techniques and means used at the time to exploit underground resources.
