The Toy Ark

Located on three floors of a former commandery of the Order of Malta, this museum covers 1,100 m² and houses a rich and varied collection of toys. The building's foundations date back to the 13th century, but its restoration, begun in 1992, allowed the display from 1994 of the toys of Richard and Joëlle Hauesser: trains, cars, soldiers, dolls, bears, and puppets. The site also hosts about three temporary exhibitions per year, mainly in the chapel, and regularly expands through purchases, donations, or loans of new items. Children can play in dedicated play areas on the ground floor and third floor. The museum also offers a 50-seat performance room and a video area with 24 seats. On the occasion of the Soultz Christmas market, it will be exceptionally open free of charge on December 2, 3, 9, and 10.
