The Treasures of Lochmatten

Lochmatten stands out as the smallest farm in France, with only 30 to 40 ares of cultivated land. Yet, this microfarm embodies a pioneering approach to energy self-sufficiency: water comes from a well and rainwater harvesting, while electricity is generated by solar panels, supplemented by a generator when needed, especially in winter.

The chosen crops reflect a commitment to environmental respect and resilience to climate constraints.

Aware of the importance of preserving water resources, the farm focuses on organic products like saffron and black garlic, which are drought-resistant, while offering their gastronomic variations.
