The Tree

The artwork *The Tree*, created by Yves Carrey and installed in 2003 at Nouveau Bassin, is the second piece to be placed along this promenade.

A recognized Mulhouse artist in the region, Yves Carrey skillfully applies his welding expertise to his art, transforming his manual know-how into an artistic and plastic expression. His inspiration draws from his first profession, which he transposes into his creations with great technical mastery.

Made from rebar recovered from abandoned buildings of potash mines, this sculpture is distinguished by its top adorned with flowers, which are actually parts from agricultural vehicles. *The Tree* perfectly harmonizes with its environment: it naturally evokes nature through its form while adopting a hue that blends into the surrounding landscape.
