The Voice of the Tram

On board the tram cars, the announcements of station names take on a sensory dimension thanks to the creations of French composer Pierre Henry. Each vocal announcement is preceded or accompanied by a sound signal composed of a few musical measures or recorded sounds, drawn from the electro-acoustic universe characteristic of his earlier works.

Two series of musical announcements alternate according to the seasons. The first offers short musical entities, perfectly synchronized, harmonized, and mixed with the vocal announcements. The second revolves around musical sequences built around the name of each station, often repeated, inspired by the pictorial and popular world of cartoons.

Two distinct musical atmospheres have been composed: one energetic and optimistic, the other tinged with humor and cheerfulness.

In total, 23 mini musical pieces, lasting between six and eleven seconds, punctuate the journeys of travelers.
