The Zeller Canteen
The Cantine of Hartmannswillerkopf originates from the Great War of 1914-1918, when the summit of this massif was the site of fierce fighting between German and French troops.
The German headquarters of sector 2 was established there in bunkers, notably along the famous curve 2.
After the war, the ZELLER brothers, Louis and Joseph, settled in these premises, specifically in the former military canteen.
Even then, the many visitors coming to discover the battlefield and its remains could eat or have a drink there. Today, this tradition of hospitality continues, making the Cantine a place steeped in history where visitors can still rest after exploring the site.
