Thierry-Mieg House

In 1818, Mathieu Thierry-Mieg, a renowned chemist and manufacturer of printed fabrics, acquired this house.

He notably developed the famous Andrinople red here, which contributed to the fame of Mulhouse's printed cottons.

Passionate about agronomy, he also established a model farm at the back of the house, known for its cattle breeding.

Later, the property changed hands and successively belonged to Gaspard Ziegler and then Frédéric Lamey, both directors of the Alsatian Mechanical Construction Company.
