Town Hall School of Wattwiller

In 1273, the Bishop of Basel founded the first nunnery on this site.

A hospital was added in 1310, marking a significant development.

With the decline of the diocese, the Dominicans of Guebwiller took over in 1366.

Upon its closure, the municipality purchased the convent to expand the town hall.

A few years later, a primary school was built on the site of the former hospice, gradually erasing the traces of its religious and hospital past.
