Uff Rain Farm-Inn

Just 3 kilometers from the famous Route des Crêtes, the Uff Rain farm-inn is located near the Platzerwasel Pass, on the road connecting the Munster valley.

From this spot, you can take in the entire Vosges ridge, stretching from Hohneck to Spitzköpfe, offering a stunning natural spectacle.

Michel, who acquired the farm in 2011, fully renovated the inn in 2019. The work highlighted the wood used for the framework, exterior cladding, and interior decoration, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere.

The farm, named Uff Rain, covers 46 hectares of heathland and high-altitude meadows, 12 hectares of which are mowed each year. Part of these areas is protected by an agreement to preserve Arnica and regulate its harvesting. The herd consists of 25 dairy cows of Vosgian and Brown breeds, as well as 12 Aubrac suckler cows, a breed particularly dear to Michel. There are also heifers and calves.

The milk produced is turned into Munster cheese, Bargkass, and tomes, while the meat is sold directly or processed into charcuterie.

The charcuterie comes from 70 pigs raised in winter at the Hohrod farm. The farm-inn offers marcaire meals as well as menus highlighting local meat, such as pot-au-feu or fleischschnakas. Among its specialties, the veal head served with roïgebrageldis is especially renowned. Finally, visitors can also purchase farm products on site.
