Unusual House on Tanners Street

Just steps from the Jesuit church in the heart of Molsheim stands an unusual house whose facade features two figures holding gingerbread. This facade, inspired by the tale of Hansel and Gretel, immediately catches the eye of passersby.

However, it is not a real bakery: the gingerbread is not for sale here.

A small Alsatian figurine on the house guides visitors with a sweet tooth to a place where they can enjoy some: the Maison Lips, located in Gertwiller on the Alsace Wine Route.

Looking more closely at the facade, one also notices a Bugatti, symbolizing the region's industrial heritage, as Molsheim is the home of Ettore Bugatti. This is a private property, to be admired from the outside.
