Virgin Fountain in Soultzmatt
On August 24, 1662, master Léodegar from Guebwiller and master Grégoire Heitz from Orschwihr signed a contract for the creation of the communal fountain, called Stockbrunnen. The craftsmen were paid 20 florins and a measure of wine.
The statue of the Virgin adorning the fountain was sculpted by master Albrecht, nicknamed the Milanese, originally from Rouffach, with the help of his brothers and companions from the Murbach Abbey.
An inscription on the statue's base indicates the year 1663.
