Vogel House

In 1778, Simon Vogel, a merchant from Mulhouse, acquired a plot of land located on the site of the city's first hospital. He built a mansion there that would mark local history.

Between 1866 and 1870, the building housed the Sub-Prefecture of Mulhouse, then, under German administration, the Kreisdirektion, the local equivalent of this institution, until 1882.

After this administrative period, the place was transformed and successively housed several shops, thus integrating into the city's economic life.
