Vogelgrun

The name Vogelgrun first appeared in the 17th century. Originally, the village was part of the holdings of the Reichsschultheiss of Breisach, pledged in 1568 to the town of Breisach in Germany. In 1770, Vogelgrun became French and gained commune status during the French Revolution. During World War II, the population was evacuated in 1939 to Lot-et-Garonne. The village was finally liberated in February 1945.
