Vosges-Trotters Mulhouse Refuge

This refuge, nestled beside the D430 road leading to the Markstein from Guebwiller, is located just before reaching the summit, in the commune of Lautenbach-Zell. Less than a kilometer from the GR5 trail, it offers an accessible yet preserved setting with unobstructed views of the surrounding ridges. Despite its proximity to the road, the environment remains peaceful, as there is no traffic at night.

The chalet, warm and comfortable, is managed by members of a welcoming association. On the ground floor, a large kitchen heated by a central wood stove is fully equipped with dishes and utensils. It adjoins a spacious living area that also serves as a dining room. On the first and second floors, there are dormitories as well as washrooms and toilets. The basement houses a laundry room, showers, a games room, and a storage area dedicated to ski equipment.

The refuge does not offer catering services, but packed meals are welcome. Thirty-four sleeping places on the first floor are available to non-members of the association. However, pets are not allowed.

Open every weekend and during school holidays (zone B), it is also continuously accessible throughout July and August by reservation. For any inquiries, you can contact the accommodation manager, Mr. Jean-Louis Burgstahler, at 07 63 71 94 42 or by email at jl.burgstahler@gmail.com.
