Wach Estate

The Wach estate is a family-run Alsatian business located in Andlau, a charming wine-growing village in the Bas-Rhin. Transitioning from coopers to winemakers, its members cultivate a human and demanding approach over 9 hectares of vineyards.

Since 2022, the estate has been officially undergoing organic conversion, a thoughtful process led by Pierre, the 7th generation at its helm, and his wife Jessica, a Quebecois sommelier. Their goal is to align with the meaning of "organic," in harmony with steep plots and environmentally respectful methods. Pierre also incorporates technological innovations such as cryo-extraction, micro-oxygenation, and vine regulation techniques without deep plowing to refine the precision and finesse of the wines produced. The dry wines, marked by passion and rigor, stand out for their clarity and gastronomic profile. They are sought after on exceptional tables in France, Europe, and internationally, with notable presence in Japan, Poland, and Canada. The estate highlights its Grands Crus Moenchberg, Wiebelsberg, and Kastelberg, all Rieslings aged for three years to ensure balance. These wines, from varied terroirs like marl-limestone, pink sandstone, or schist, captivate with their minerality and dry style. Other grape varieties such as Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Noir complement the offer, always in a dry style and limited quantities, reflecting the estate's modest size.

Committed to continuous improvement, the estate recently modernized its tools, expanded projects, welcomed a new heir, Jules Wach, and enthusiastically prepares for future challenges.
