Water Tower
Erected in 1886 on one of the highest points in Colmar, this iconic water tower embodies the engineering and architecture of its era.
Designed by Swiss engineer Henri Grüner and municipal architect Jean-Baptiste-Victor Huen, its German neo-Gothic tower rises 53 meters tall.
Originally intended to regulate the distribution of drinking water, it supplied the city from July 1884 through municipal plants, with a storage capacity of 1200 m³.
After shaping the Colmar landscape for nearly a century, it was decommissioned in 1984.
Today, it stands out as the oldest preserved water tower in Alsace.
