Wattwiller
Nestled at the foot of the Molkenrain massif and near the battlefield of Vieil Armand, the commune of Wattwiller has managed to preserve architectural treasures despite the fierce battles of the First World War that partly devastated it. Its fountains, remnants of its old fortifications, and especially its Romanesque church bear witness to this rich past.
Today, Wattwiller is mainly known for the purity of its mineral water, marketed throughout France. To discover its history and landscapes, the commune offers free guided tours in July and August. Groups can also request paid tours by reservation through the Tourist Office. Outside the summer season, a guide leaflet titled "Le Fil Rouge de Wattwiller" allows visitors to explore the commune at their own pace. This document is available free of charge upon request at the same office.
