Weckenberg Site

At the end of Chestnut Street stand two elegant manor houses built after 1918. One of them was the former home of the Cernay industrialist Paul Baudery, while the other takes the form of a small castle. These buildings occupy the site of a medieval castle, the Weckenberg, which belonged to the nobles of Wattwiller until 1568. Destroyed during the Thirty Years' War, the castle was only rebuilt in the 20th century, after 1918.
