Weckolsheim
Weckolsheim first appears in archives in 791. In 1213, it was known as Wekelthem. Five centuries later, in 1507, the village was incorporated into the bailiwick of Heiteren. During World War II, German bombings caused significant damage to Weckolsheim. On February 6, 1945, American troops liberated the village after fierce fighting. Notable landmarks include the Saint Sebastian Church, built in 1843, the 16th-century lordly farm, the Vauban canal, and a calvary erected in 1817.
