Weiterswiller

Located in the southern foothills of the Northern Vosges massif, this village is bordered to the west by a majestic forest crowned by the iconic Pfannenfelsen rock, which rises to 418 meters. To the east, it stretches over gentle hills dotted with lush meadows, abundant orchards, and some remaining vineyard plots to the south, offering a landscape both wild and cultivated.

Crossed from west to east by the departmental road 7, this village serves as a strategic link between Lorraine and Alsace. The RD 7 indeed allows access to La Petite-Pierre, just 7 kilometers away, then Haguenau at 30 kilometers. Additionally, Saverne is only 16 kilometers to the south, facilitating travel to this town.

This picturesque village hosts a diverse religious and cultural heritage. A Protestant church, adorned with frescoes dating from the 15th century, bears witness to its ancient history. A Catholic church, equipped with a Rohrer organ, complements this spiritual landscape. Added to this is a Buddhist monastery, symbolizing the diversity of traditions present, as well as a synagogue built in 1868, reflecting the richness of its heritage.
