Wine Village - The Valley of Cats

In 1521, the village of Katzenthal, surrounded by vineyards, was under the authority of the Lordship of Hohlandsbourg.

Nestled in a picturesque valley, it is dominated by the imposing ruins of Wineck Castle, which has overlooked the landscape for centuries. Today, Katzenthal enjoys top-tier wine recognition: it is authorized to produce wines under the prestigious Alsace Grand Cru, Alsace, and Crémant d’Alsace appellations, thus continuing a tradition deeply rooted in its terroir.
