Wines Domaine Nadine and Francis Backert

The story of the Backert family's wines began in 1984 in the Alsatian village of Dorlisheim. Founded by Nadine and Francis Backert, both driven by a passion for vines and wines, the estate is now managed by the entire family. It offers a wide range including all Alsace wines, crémants, and eaux-de-vie, all from a constantly evolving operation.

Spanning 16 hectares, the estate covers a variety of terroirs and high-quality named plots, ideal for expressing the most prestigious Alsatian grape varieties. The soils, mainly composed of shell limestone (muschelkalk), alternate with sandstone layers, bringing subtlety and elegance to the wines. To preserve these terroirs, the estate practices respectful viticulture: low yields, ecosystem protection, measured use of green products, and treatments with essential oils. The goal is to work in harmony with nature to preserve biodiversity.

The family-run estate opens its doors for cellar and vineyard visits, followed by wine tastings. Tastings can be paired with food, provided an appointment is made in advance with the estate.
