Witches' Tower
This tower is the last surviving part of the ramparts that once surrounded the town. Its top still houses a traditional stork's nest, symbolizing its deep roots in time.
The base, which is round in shape, dates back to the 13th century and is the oldest part of the structure. The upper floors, square in plan, were added in the 14th and 15th centuries. For centuries, this tower served as a prison, holding inmates of all kinds.
Its current name recalls a dark chapter in its history: it is said to have housed women accused of witchcraft during the time of the Inquisition.
