BiodiverCity. The Animals of the City

The recently renovated Zoological Museum is launching its first temporary exhibition titled "BiodiverCity."

Designed as an immersive walk, it highlights the animals that share our daily lives in urban environments. The drawings of naturalist illustrator Valentine Plessy guide this exploration, inviting reflection on the ways humans and non-human city dwellers coexist.

In the face of environmental crises, the exhibition asks: is the city an ecosystem like any other?

While nearly 80% of the French population now lives in urban areas, these are often seen as spaces devoid of nature.

Yet, a diverse biodiversity, made up of species of all sizes and origins, coexists with us daily. By focusing on this proximity, the exhibition emphasizes the importance of preserving and rethinking our relationships with living beings.
