Advent Christmas Stroll in Weiterswiller
In Weiterswiller, the "Advent Christmas Stroll" invites you to immerse yourself in the "Mystery of Alsatian Christmas" through an inaugural route in 2025. This journey winds through the old village, connecting the multipurpose hall, which has a large parking area, to the Protestant Church, or vice versa depending on your choice. You will discover all the elements of the holiday season: stalls offering wooden, fabric, or knitted decorations for the tree and home, local products for festive meals, as well as artisanal creations and specialties such as bredle cookies, gingerbread, and mulled wine to enjoy on site. The historic Church, rich with 16th-century murals, offers guided tours for art and history enthusiasts, while the organist showcases their virtuosity. At the Reposoir, storytellers share local legends that delight both young and old. The Young Singers Choir enlivens the celebration with universal Christmas carols. At the multipurpose hall, a traditional pea soup, Erbsesupp, served with sausages, is offered, while stalls, exhibitions, and creative workshops complete the experience. Saint Nicholas will join the festivities to the great joy of children. Finally, the "Path of a Thousand Lights" offers a walk dotted with unusual characters, stories about the origins of Alsatian traditions linked to nature and the seasons, and even a small horseback ride for the little ones. An ideal opportunity to share a convivial moment with family or friends.
