Arcades of the New District

Originally named the Charles X district, this urban complex marks an important step in Strasbourg's expansion beyond its medieval walls.

It was designed and built by two young local architects, Jean-Godefroi Stotz and Félix Fries. For their project, they drew inspiration from the elegance and layout of Paris's Rue de Rivoli, creating a structured and harmonious neighborhood.
