House of Music
The Nussbaumer Farm, located in Kingersheim, is a building rich in history. The inscription "1664" carved on its door suggests a 17th-century origin, but some evidence indicates it may date back to the Alsatian Renaissance, before being damaged during the Thirty Years' War. In the 18th century, significant modifications were made to the structure, giving it a lower part made of dressed stone and an upper part with half-timbering. In 1863, Charles Mieg from Mulhouse became its owner, but it was not until 1937 that the Nussbaumer family settled there. After centuries of evolution, the farm was restored between 1995 and 1996 by the City of Kingersheim to house the music school. The restoration preserved the building's original spirit, highlighting its curved lintels, two pairs of inclined posts, and a Saint Andrew's cross in the panel below the central double window.
