Jewish Cemetery

This cemetery, dating back at least to the early 17th century (documented in 1738), served as a burial site until 1930. It was shared by several neighboring communities: Niederroedern, Buhl, Beinheim, Niederseebach, Roppenheim, and Oberlauterbach. It was first expanded in 1785 and later extended to also accommodate the Jewish deceased from Lauterbourg, reaching an area of one hectare. In 1878, Niederroedern established its own cemetery, followed by Hatten in 1880. Two synagogues were built here, in 1798 and 1865, but today only Synagogue Street remains.
