Old Town Hall

Devastated by a fire in 1551, Mulhouse's Town Hall was rebuilt the following year and now stands as a gem of Rhenish Renaissance architecture. Montaigne described it as a "magnificent and all-gilded palace."

Since 1698, its façade has been adorned with trompe-l'œil decorations by Jean Gabriel, adding a touch of Baroque elegance.

Still in use, this iconic building hosts City Council sessions and civil wedding ceremonies. It also houses the city's Historical Museum, offering visitors a journey through Mulhouse's past.
