Sub-Prefecture
This building, erected in 1810 under the Napoleonic regime, was designed to house the cantonal administration. The imperial eagle, still visible above the entrance door, recalls this era.
In 1871, when Haguenau became a German sub-prefecture, the building retained its administrative function serving the state. Today, it continues to host the offices of the sub-prefecture of the Haguenau-Wissembourg district.
