The Fishermen's Tower

Built between 1228 and 1235, this imposing tower features a characteristic octagonal plan. Remodeled in the 16th century, it has undergone several restorations over the centuries. Its first level, dating from the 13th century, is distinguished by its brick and sandstone block construction. The upper levels were added in the 17th century. A spectacular arch spans the Moder River: it was once equipped with a portcullis that allowed the closure of access to the city via the waterway, thus providing strategic protection.
