The Theatre

The Haguenau Theatre is one of the four Italian-style theatres still in operation in Alsace.

Built in 1846 by the Parisian architect Charles Morin, it predates the arrival of the railway in the city by ten years.

Its architecture combines a traditional pink sandstone facade with an internal metal structure, invisible from the outside.

Originally seating 420, the building was modernized in 2005 with an extension at the rear to meet contemporary standards and needs.
