Tithe House

On the Market Square of Molsheim stands the Counts' Granary, also known as the Grafenkast.

This historic building was once the tithe house of the Canon Counts of the Chapter, who took refuge there between 1605 and 1681.

Under the Ancien Régime, the floors of this building were used to store the in-kind dues collected by the bishopric. Even today, a pietà is embedded in the left wall of the granary, bearing witness to its religious and medieval past.
