Town Hall
The town hall of Mutzig holds a central place in this Alsatian village with a rich medieval past, located on the Alsace wine route, about twenty kilometers from Strasbourg.
Built in 1746, this building is distinguished by an original octagonal tower covered with shingles and topped with a characteristic bulbous roof.
The plans for the building were designed by Joseph Massol, a renowned architect who also designed the Palais des Rohan in Strasbourg.
Inside, an unusual automaton draws attention: a grimacing head that opens its mouth and wiggles its ears every time the clock strikes the hour and half-hour.
